# Places

Optional location suggestions in the event form.

Place suggestions in the form's Location field are off by default: what is typed there goes to the provider. Turn them on with `placeSearch`, for example with the built-in OpenStreetMap adapter (Photon, no key):

`lang` is one of `en`, `de`, `fr`, `it`. The public Photon server has a fair-use policy: for heavy traffic, run your own and pass its URL as `endpoint`.

A chosen place is saved as `event.place` (`{ name, address, lat, lon }`) with its text in `location`, and the event card links to Maps and to directions. A video link is kept as typed. Any provider fits: `placeSearch` is `(query, { signal }) => Promise<Place[]>`.
